The mix of the low tech (just lying low on a hill, no blind) and the high tech (the Kobo) made me smile.
I'm sure there's a bumper sticker out there saying that an unsuccessful day hunting is still better than ____ fill in your regular day's activity. Good luck.
The landscape looks similar to Middle TN. You sure you are in upstate NY?
Hi Jenna;
Your fields look like you should see deer every evening. I just wanted to offer a tiny bit of advice that might improve your success.
I use a tent blind in situations like this. They are cheap, help conceal human odors and mask your profile from the deer.

Hi Jenna;
I do love reading of your adventures!
The fields you hunt look like fertile deer grounds. You should see deer every evening just before dusk.
I am commenting to offer a tiny bit of advice. In similar settings I use a tent blind to conceal my shape from the animals. The walls of the blind also help conceal your human odor from the deer.
I am in no way connected to the seller of this product. It is inexpensive and may work for you.
