Stopped at Battenkill Books today after I left the office. I just wanted to check in with Connie, and talk about stopping down on Friday for store support and signing. Talk about great timing! The first box of books had just arrived! Barnheart is in stock and ready for Plaid Friday shoppers! I signed 24 copies right then and there, and so did Gibson (pawprints in animal-safe ink). Those books are on the way to folks all over America. I took a bunch of photos, and a lot were better quality, but this moment of Gibson pawing Connie near the package of books was priceless. Why did he grab her? Because she whispered "Come Bye" and he was certain she had sheep in the office.
Spinning Wheel giveaway? Be still my beating heart!
Congrats on the book, it was such a WONDERFUL read! I'm giving away several for the holidays. And I'm sure I will have no trouble selling a whole stack of them at the bookstore I work at. :D
(eek!lilhappydance!) Jenna, I can't WAIT to receive our copies out here in SoCal! So happy! And thanks for posting a picture of Connie, we have been writing back and forth about your book and it's nice to put a sweet face with a sweet person... I'm so THRILLED Jenna! Thank you!
That's very, very exciting that the book has arrived. I pre-ordered mine and am looking forward to receiving it - I have a week off in December to read . . . I'm excited about the possibility of winning a spinning wheel - for my daughter.
Nice to see a little bit of Kiwi has made it all the way to your place. Ashford has the bestest yarn shop down in their home base of Ashburton (about a 30 min drive from my place). I ALWAYS buy yarn when I go there....
Jenna, I do the same with Bud. You remember Bud, don't you? It is amusing to the patients when we make our hospice visits. "Come bye" are magic words to a Border Collie.
And, um, on a more personal/selfish note, do you know if Connie knitted that sweater she's wearing? If so, could you ask her where she got the pattern?? Thanks!
Cannot wait to send signed copies of you book out for Christmas! Such a great gift! I will be looking for sign up info for the spinng wheel gieaway! I have been looking at local spinning shops and yarn here in Western No. Carolina with a ping of regret that I do not know how to use these beautiful tools. What great incentive to learn!
Jenna, I was wondering if you have any of them in e-book format for me to purchase? Being in Brazil, I'm not sure I want to waste all the paper and shipping and oil for all the 3 books (though I'm definitely purchasing a physical copy of Barnheart)
Enjoy the story of a young writer living in Washington County with her fancy dogs, sheep, lots of chickens, fiber & meat rabbits, geese, ducks, turkeys, a hive and a garden. Expect to hear a lot about mountain music, the civil war, local food, and my friends along the way. It's a big time folks.
