ouch
Thursday, May 5th
Came home from work.
Stopped at mailbox.
Put the wad of mail in the truck.
Did not realize mail contained three yellow jackets.
Sat on three yellow jackets.
Damn, that's smarts.
My ass turned red and puffy.
I took three Benadryl and now am too tired to write.
More tomorrow, promise.

Oh, that does ouch. I bet they weren't happy either. Good night!
holy mother of ouch! hope your boss doesn't mind you working on your stomach for the next couple of days...
love from kc
Ouch! I've been stung in the rear by yellow jackets before, too, and I couldn't sit down for 2 days! I hope your stings heal quick!
Stings hurt like mad! And benadryl..well it makes me sleepy and stupid! Hope you can sit soon!
Feel better!

Make a baking soda/water paste/poultice and put it on the sting areas. It will draw the ouchy stinger pain away.
I feel for you girl, it has been a very long time since I got stung by anything.
Oh, that's no fun at all. I second the application of baking soda, though - it really seems to help. Feel better soon.
Why were yellow jackets in your mail? Usually they aren't a problem until August. By tomorrow they should be a memory.
Keep an eye (as best you can) on the stings--I've twice gotten cellulitis from yellow jacket stings. Feel better!
Owie!!!!
Put ammonia -- that's right, good ole household ammonia on those stings. The pain goes away immediately. (at least when you do it right at first, not sure about later!)
Good luck!
Your poor butt!!! I hope you feel a little better tomorrow (and don't have too much of a Benadryl hangover).
Thanks so much for the banjo update!
that was too much excitement for one day

Hee hee. Sorry. Hope your ass feels better soon. lol :)
p.s. Benadryl is the shiznit.
put on a pair of levi's once that had some hornets in, got stung 7 times before i could get them off-sister and friends thought i was a talented dancer- i could have been auditioning for "dancing with the stars" have a great eve.
Oh no!!!! I know EXACTLY how that feels, and funnily enough, it's not something I would care to experience again... Hope the Benadryl takes care of it!!
Oh, you poor thing! Feel better soon!
Oh, that is just the icing on the cake after work, isn't it. Hope the pain and swelling goes down quickly!
I can't believe how many other people have been stung on the butt!
Yeeeeee Ha.... That smarts. Sleep well.
that pretty much happened to me the other day. I grabbed the mail, felt something brush my hand, put the mail under my chin so I had a free hand to open door and realized there was a wasp in the mail. threw everything down and cursed. headed inside and saw I got stung in the palm. I can empathize.
Not exactly haiku, but an interesting poem, nonetheless....
what a bummer......get it?
I'm sorry; I'll stop now. Hope your popo feels better soon.
When I was growing up we had this outhouse...nuff said?
This is NOT what I expected to read when i pulled up your blog this am! I am so sorry but I giggled at first, then I felt bad. I hope you are feeling better. Dum ole yellow jackets!
More like, ouch! ouch! ouch! Hope your bum feels better quickly!
I got a wasp up my jeans leg once. I was in the car and it must have crawled up my leg. It stung me six times before I could get pulled over. I stripped off my jeans right at the side of the road. I am sure a few folks got a good look but who cares?
Ouch is right! So next time that happens, go look for some plantain leaves, chew some up and put it on the stings. I swear within seconds all is well and no swelling at all. And you are good to go like nothing ever happened. Plantain grows in swirls close to the ground. I have lots in my goat yard and it's all over my yard also. Very easy to spot it too. It has oval leaves with the veins running up the leaves. And older plants will have spikes with the seed head. It's a great astringent too. Just put ACV in a jar and add cut up leaves. Leave for a month, while shaking, in a dark place. Strain the leaves and you can use it for a facial astringent and on stings and cuts. Hope this helps next time.
Imagine life on the farm before Benadryl.
Wasp nest in the outhouse and barn and ground hornets, nearly every time we cut firewood ground hornets stung everybody including the mules.
Mean bastards, ground hornets.

Got stung by bees in the backside once and it took 3-4 days to recover. Didn't help that DH has a habit of swatting me on the butt when I go by, and he kept forgetting. This needs to go in the book too. maybe as a haiku like Paula said. Feel better!
Guess you won't be riding too much for a while.
Laughing but I've been there, too.
I would offer to kiss it an make it better, but considering the location, your on your own. Baking soda and vinegar paste works best.
Yellow jackets bite AND sting. Hopefully you can figure out which it was in case you need to get the stingers out. Either way it sucks. Feel better!
Yikes, yellowjackets in the tuchus. +1 for the baking soda paste I'm not sure how flexible you are, Jenna, but if you ever sit on them again, give it a shot. Maybe with a spatula? How's that for a comical image!
oh no! I hate bees with a passion, hope you feel better soon.
Think about it this way--at least you won't wanna sit down and rest too often tomorrow....
owie owie owie!
Maybe this will make you feel a little better...it sure put a big smile on my face!!

Oh I am so sorry it must really hurt but I am sorry to say your sense of humor about it made me laugh. B
Feel better, Jenna's butt!
HATE yellow jackets, those little motherf***ers hurt :(
Holy Schamoley! I think you need to go to bed...
Ow! I've stepped on bees and even almost swallowed a bee (who had flown into my can of pop) but never sat on one. I love how you wrote about it though. I can almost hear those words in a song. ha! Feel better! That stinks for a desk job! :-(
